Terms of Service
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PDFinsert, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the website.
2. Description of the Service
PDFinsert provides free online tools to merge, split, compress, convert, protect, sign, watermark, and otherwise edit PDF files. All processing is performed locally in your web browser using JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.
3. User Responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for the content of the files you process.
- You must only process files that you own or have the legal right to modify.
- You agree not to use the tools for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own device and browser.
- You are solely responsible for verifying the quality, accuracy, and suitability of any file produced by the tools before using it.
4. Visual signatures and document edits
Tools such as “Add Signature”, “Add Text”, “Watermark PDF”, and similar features allow you to place visual marks, text, images, or other content on a PDF. These features create a visual modification of the document only.
PDFinsert does not provide certified, qualified, advanced, or otherwise regulated electronic signatures under eIDAS, ESIGN, UETA, or any similar law. We do not guarantee that signatures or other marks added with this tool are legally binding, enforceable, admissible in court, or valid for any particular purpose or jurisdiction.
You use every tool — including signature, text, watermark, encryption, conversion, and editing tools — entirely at your own discretion and risk. You are solely responsible for determining whether the result meets any legal, contractual, regulatory, or professional requirement that applies to you.
5. No warranty
PDFinsert is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or reliability.
We do not guarantee that the tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that outputs will be complete, uncorrupted, or suitable for your needs. Browser differences, damaged source files, or user settings may affect results.
6. Limitation of liability and disclaimer of responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFinsert and its operators, owners, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or opportunities, arising out of or related to:
- Your use of, or inability to use, any tool on the website;
- Any file you process, download, share, sign, or rely on after using the service;
- Any visual signature, watermark, text, encryption, conversion, or other modification applied to a document;
- Any claim that a document is or is not legally valid, binding, or authentic;
- Data loss, corruption, unexpected output, or third-party use of files you produce;
- Any decision you make based on the service or its outputs.
Because all processing happens in your browser, we have no access to your files and cannot recover, audit, or certify them. You acknowledge that you use the service voluntarily and that PDFinsert has no duty to supervise, approve, or validate your use.
If any liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability for all claims related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us to use the service (which is zero for free use) or the minimum amount required by law, whichever applies.
7. Intellectual Property
The PDFinsert name, logo, website design, and original content are the property of PDFinsert. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the website without prior written permission.
You retain full ownership of any files you process using our tools.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the service.
- Use the tools to process content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the service in a way that harms performance.
- Misrepresent outputs of the tools as certified, notarized, or government-issued documents when they are not.
9. Advertising
PDFinsert may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar services. These ads are provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the service at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the operators of PDFinsert are established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your country require otherwise.
