1. How do I edit text in a PDF?
Open a PDF from your device, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Click a line on the page to select it. Change the wording, size, color, bold or italic in the sidebar. Click Finish editing and download the new file.
2. Can I add new text, not only change existing lines?
Yes. Switch to Add text, type in Content, then click the page to place it. Drag the box, use the arrows to nudge it, and use the red X to remove it.
3. Why can’t I select some words?
The tool edits the PDF text layer. Scanned pages (image-only) have no selectable text. If a word exists but the box missed it, stay in Select mode and drag a box over that word to force a selection.
4. Will table lines and cell colors stay in place?
Yes. The original page is kept. Edited lines are covered and rewritten on top, so gray, green, or yellow cells and column rules stay. Drag the purple edges if a box is too wide for a cell.
5. Can I delete text or undo a change?
Select a line and click Delete, or use the red X on a new text box. Undo restores the last change. Delete hides the original line; it does not rebuild the whole page.
6. Can I move or rotate images?
Yes. Click an image on the page, drag it, or use the Image buttons to rotate left or right. Finish editing to write the new position into the PDF.
7. How do I import a PDF from Google Drive or Dropbox?
Use the cloud buttons in the upload panel. Sign in, pick a PDF, and it downloads into your browser. You do not need a PDFinsert account. On mobile, allow pop-ups.
8. Do I need to create an account?
No. Editing from your device needs no login. There is no watermark and no paid plan to download.
9. Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your file never leaves your device for processing. Edits run in the browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Cloud import only downloads the file you picked into that session. We do not store the PDF.
10. Is there a file size limit?
Each file can be up to 150 MB. The real limit is your device memory. Large page counts are more comfortable on a computer than on a phone.
11. Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Unlock it first with the Unlock PDF tool, then open it here.
12. Can I edit PDFs on my phone or tablet?
Yes, on current Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. For long tables or many pages, a computer is easier to zoom and click.
13. What can I do after I download the edited PDF?
Use Continue editing to send the result to Merge, Organize, Compress, Add Signature, or page numbers — still in the browser.

Editing Tips
- Tables and forms: Use Individual Editing for names, prices, IDs, labels and other short entries.
- Letters and paragraphs: Use Paragraph Editing when words should move to the next line as you type.
- Keep the layout: Precise Lines preserves the position of other text. Word-like editing preserves the selected paragraph's original width.
- Resize when needed: Drag a corner of the paragraph box to make room for extra text.
- Move without scrolling: Drag the Move control on the floating toolbar to reposition your selection.
- Keep the original font: PDFInsert tries to preserve the original font. Change it only when needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which editing mode should I use?
Use Individual Editing for a word, number or field that must stay in place. Use Paragraph Editing for continuous text that should wrap like Word.
How do I select an entire paragraph?
Click at the beginning of the paragraph, hold down the mouse button, and drag to the end of the text. A green highlight will appear as you select the text, helping you identify the selected area. Once the entire paragraph is highlighted in green, release the mouse button to open the Word-like editor automatically.
Why don't other words move in Individual Editing?
Precise Lines keeps the PDF's fixed text positions. To move words between lines automatically, use Paragraph Editing.
How do I move or resize text?
Use Move on the contextual toolbar. In Paragraph Editing, drag one of the four corner handles to resize the block.
Can I edit a scanned PDF?
A scanned page may only contain an image, not selectable text. You can still insert new content; direct editing of the original lettering requires selectable text or OCR.
How do I save my edited PDF?
Choose Finish Editing in the top toolbar, then download your PDF. You can use Continue Editing if you need additional changes.
