Split PDF by Size

You can split your PDF in two ways:

• By file size (MB) — Ideal when you need to meet email, portal or upload limits.
• By number of pages — Perfect when you want exact control (fixed pages per file or custom ranges).

Both methods process the file completely in your browser and deliver the results in a single ZIP download.

The tool checks the size of each page and groups consecutive pages together so that no resulting file exceeds the maximum size you set (for example 1 MB, 5 MB or 10 MB). If a single page is already larger than the limit, it is placed in its own file.

You can choose a fixed number of pages per file (e.g. 10 pages each) or define custom ranges (for example pages 1–5, 6–12, 13–20). This gives you precise control over how the document is divided.

When one PDF is divided into multiple independent files, each new document needs its own structure:

• File headers and cross-reference tables
• Fonts and embedded resources (so every part displays correctly on its own)

This small overhead (usually around 5%) is normal and required by the PDF format.

Yes. The tool carefully calculates page groups so that the final files respect the maximum size you set. Only in the rare case that a single page is already larger than the limit will that page be output alone.
