Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Everything you need to know about rotating PDF pages
How do I rotate pages in a PDF?
Upload your PDF, choose the rotation angle (90° Clockwise, 180°, or 90° Counterclockwise), select which pages to rotate, and click the Rotate PDF button. The corrected PDF will download automatically with the new orientation applied.
What rotation angles are available?
The tool offers three precise rotation angles:
- 90° Clockwise — Rotates pages 90 degrees to the right. Ideal for documents scanned sideways.
- 180° — Flips pages upside down. Perfect for documents that were scanned in reverse.
- 90° Counterclockwise — Rotates pages 90 degrees to the left.
Can I rotate only specific pages?
Yes. You have four flexible options to target exactly the pages you need:
- All pages — Applies rotation to the entire document
- First page only — Rotates only the cover or first page
- Last page only — Rotates only the final page
- Custom pages / range — Enter specific pages like 1, 3, 5-8 to rotate only those
This is especially useful when only some pages in a scanned document are misaligned.
What is the difference between clockwise and counterclockwise rotation?
Clockwise rotation turns pages to the right, like the hands of a clock. Counterclockwise turns them to the left, in the opposite direction. If a page is rotated 90° clockwise by mistake, applying a 90° counterclockwise rotation will return it to its original orientation. Both options preserve the original quality of your PDF.
Will rotating affect the quality of my PDF?
No. The rotation process is completely lossless. The tool only changes the orientation metadata of the pages without recompressing or modifying the actual content. Your text, images, and formatting remain exactly the same, just displayed in the new direction you chose.
Does the rotated PDF have a watermark?
No. The rotated PDF is completely clean. We do not add any watermark, logo, or branding to your documents. What you download is exactly your original file with only the page orientation changed, making it perfect for professional, academic, or business use.
Are my files uploaded to any server?
No. Everything is processed 100% in your browser using client-side technology. Your PDF never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any server. We cannot see, access, or store your files. This ensures complete privacy for sensitive documents like contracts, financial reports, or personal records.
Can I use this tool without an internet connection?
Yes. Once the page has fully loaded, you can disconnect from the internet and continue using the tool normally. All rotation processing happens locally in your browser memory. Just make sure you don’t reload or refresh the page while offline, as the core libraries need to be downloaded the first time.
Is there a file size limit?
We recommend keeping files under 50 MB for the best experience. Larger files can still work on modern desktop computers, but may process slower or fail on mobile devices with limited memory. If you need to reduce your PDF size before rotating, try our Compress PDF tool first.
Does it work on mobile phones and tablets?
Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works perfectly on modern mobile browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on both Android and iOS devices. You can upload, rotate, and download PDFs directly from your phone. For very large documents, a desktop computer may provide faster processing.
